What do you use to shave?

You know what? The actual K.C. Gillette DE blade totally reminds me of the famous "Red Personna" DE blade, which I had a long time ago. The gentleness, but still sharp enough for me. At least with my Merkur 15c.

I also got some Wilkinson classic DE blades stocked and will try again one, the next time. Of course with the Merkur 15c! But I don't expect anything, because they were never sharp enough for me.

With the discontinued Palmolive stick and Tüff Herb, it's a real old-fashioned shave. Barbershop at it's best. :)

Just fine. :)

No after shave, today. I just applied a nice generic body softcream.
But the good old Speick shave soap stick is still a TOP-NOTCH shave soap, I tell you! Just first class lather for best gliding.

Got a new shave soap today, I really like it. I tried their Orbit shave soap before and I really loved it, this one has a Jasmine green tea fragrance and it's really lovely.

Feather blads and 60's Gilette Aristocrat Adjustable. For being adjustable, this is the first time I actually adjusted the blade, used a more shallow angle for a more aggressive shave and it turned out well with the soap and sharp blades cutting ever so slightly closer than my usual. Will continue at this setting in the future.

-storebrand body softcream

Good result with acceptable low amount of bloody points. But the serious sharp cartridge blades always are to handle with respect. I prefer the shorter (halfed) blade for my very edged parts.

An old Van Der Hagen boar brush (cheap but of all I have it's my favorite)
Clubman shave soap and a nearly 100 yrs old Lee straight razor.
Typically, classic Clubman, whiskey woods or lime-sec aftershave.

Depending on the time of year, I go more vanilla / spice products in colder weather and more citrusy in warmer weather. Right now (March), I'm liking: The Bluebeard's Revenge Scimitar razor with a Bluebeard's Revenge blade; Caswell Massey badger shaving brush; Barberry Coast Bay Rum shaving soap; and finished off with Layrite # 9 Bay Rum aftershave.

I'm still using the 1920s era Gillette Old Type. It's been about a year. I can't see using anything else now. The razor is perfect in my opinion.

FWIW The Fatip Piccolo is very close in design. It is nickel platted brass and has an open-comb low-profile head. When I remembered it a few months ago, I used it to compare. I was reminded that the slop in the blade alignment requires manual centering before tightening. There is zero noticeable slop on the vintage razor. Other than that, the Piccolo is a little heavier and the handle is a little larger in diameter, and the Old Type has a flatter and thinner head. I have a fondness for the Piccolo from several years using it every morning, but the Old Type is a better razor in my experience.
