Vesper Martini at 1 Market in San Francisco, former headquarters to the Southern Pacific empire.
Lochan Ora Liqueur by Chivas Brothers, Mrs. B has even written a review of it: http://summerfruitcup.wordpress.com/2010/11/21/whispers-of-whiskey-1-lochan-ora-liqueur/
Just bought a bottle of Benedictine, so the menu for tonight was a Vieux Carre. Tasty.

Lovely! I've not had one for ages.
We had a taste test of 17 commercial Sloe gins yesterday, very tasty.
That sounds tasty.Try a la Louisiane:
3/4 ounce rye whiskey.
3/4 ounce Italian vermouth.
3/4 ounce Bénédictine.
3 dashes Herbsaint, Original
3 dashes Peychaud's Bitters.
Mix in barglass with lumps of ice. Strain into a cocktail glass
in which has been placed a maraschino cherry.

It is 49 degrees here so far. Cold as a witch's breath.
