My wife is partial to a cocktail known as a Mojito: It looks like a market garden, has fresh mint in it as well as floating on top of it. All I know is that the main ingredient is rum. Bought her a bottle of Sailor Jerry. The idea being that I make her a Mojito. Yeah right, we both had far more than is wise, neat, no ice. We have been ballroom dancing for the best part of fifty years. It's a tactile activity that brings us into contact with many that enjoy a vintage style of life.
My wife had to see a specialist today. She is going to have a knee replacement, sooner rather than later. The technology will give her a better quality for a while, but the problem is, these replacements have a shelf life, so although we could dance again, it's better if we don't. She has to learn the do's and don'ts in order to preserve the artificial joint.
I shouldn't ramble, or post after drinking neat rum. Just needed to let it out. Apologies.

Well, getting older just stinks for several reasons but we take all the extra time we can get. Slowing down is better than stopping altogether. :p

Thanks James, self pity isn't my usual line, and we are both in rude health. Well we will be as long as Sailor Jerry stays in the bottle.

Today was my son's 8th birthday. My wife found a recipe for butter beer. A drink from Harry Potter.

The problem with mojitos is that they go down so smooth that you've had 8 or 10 of them before you realize there's rum in it.

I use Aviation Gin for that one with Rose's sweetened lime. :p
Did you got the Raymond Chandler 50/50 route or Gary Regan's 4 to one recipe?

Hi James,

I like the dryness of Plymouth, and although I've never tried it, would probably find sweetened lime, a little too sweet for my taste. I always go the 4 to 1 ratio.....I like to taste the gin!
