Just got my first Akubra a few weeks ago - A Balmoral Hemp for the hot Texas Summers.
I assume only color is NATURAL.....

About to order a Banjo Paterson in Heritage Fawn.

I love the Moonstone and Bluegrass Green, wish the Banjo came in those. Maybe a Stylemaster after that.....

There's the issue of the Stylemaster being a factory-creased hat, which makes the comparison more difficult for me. (Wouldn't it be nice to see a Stylemaster with an open crown?) That said, I would agree that the Stylemaster's crown is shorter with more of a taper than the Camp Draft.

I got my Stylemaster after wearing only a couple of modern Stetson fedoras with relatively low crowns. This made my Stylemaster look like a much more "significant" hat when I first got it. But since I've been wearing the Bushmen and Camp Drafts, the Stylemaster now looks like the little brother.

I tend to find I wear hats like the Stylemaster a little differently - almost more casually, and overall more of a fifties look than 30s/40s. Not something conscious, but when I think about it I realise I'm doing that. Shirt, tie, leather jacket or Harrington and slacks - 'casual Sinatra' kinda thing. Works well for that.I agree, it'd be interesting to have an open-crown Stylemaster. I'm not ideologically opposed to factory bashes, but there's something glorious about the slight imperfection of a hand-bash that a factory one done on a uniform block doesn't quite grasp.

First akubra was the Slouch hat issued to me when I joined the army aged 17. My profile picture shows the same hat 40 years later, I dont believe they make Akubras like that anymore, sadly...
