Cool Pendleton wool cap. I have a Pendleton wool cap I got to match a Pendleton shirt. Now that I have it, I have not worn them together as it looks to matchy-matchy to my eye. I like that you pair the patterned wool with a patterned fabric in your jacket.

Can you imagine that Friday and Saturday I wore the same cap? Yes it is true. The Harris green paneled cap really called to me.

It is a belt backed cap. I did ot get a "backside" pic. This wool that is spun in the Outer Hebrides and plied on the Isle of Harris is grand. It garnered a few comments from co-workers, barista and lunch server.

Not *quite* wearing out yet, but I sported this in the office for a bit yesterday when it arrived.... a new Bronson USAAF Mechanic's A3 cap in green HBT. I picked this up from eBay. They're (relatively) inexpensive. It would be interesting to compare one side by side with the likes of an RMC. The latter are undeniably nice.... and undeniably pricey! I suppose it's all relative, but I have to admit this sort of very utilitarian piece I find hard to see the big bucks in aganst usage for me, but that's a whole nother can o'worms.

I gave up on ballcaps maybe thirty years ago when I decided they just weren't for me. After picking up a B2 for the depths of Winter a decade or so ago, I have over time become intrigued by these. The blue one arrived a few months ago, and is lying in my office across town until I clear a lot more out at home. I bought it on a bit of a whim (I'll eventually succumb to its Daisy May colleague as well, I suspect). On cold days when the heating isn't so efficient (common in our building), it's surprisingly nice to wear at my desk. Such a light thing, but just enough heat retained for keeping the bald warm indoors. The somewhat shorter, rounder, softer bill makes it much nicer than any ballcap I ever wore. The green one is markedly softer, notably so in the bill, which I assume is down to the cloth being lighter to begin with, as there isn't to my knowledge any stiffener in the peak of either, barring that stitching that gives them 'body'. I expect one or both of these will end up going with me to Beijing later in the year, worn during travelling, when it'll serve as a headcover that can be easily stowed in one of the pockets of the MC vest I use as a travel jacket for carrying convenience (saves emptying all my pockets at security) in hot weather when a sleeve jacket is not an option.

I had missed it and the auction expired but saw it posted on the Fedora Lounge. The seller was kind enough to let it go at the original BIN price. Crazy rustic tweed in lush colors, one of my favorite antique caps.

Winter's over on the East Coast! Walking the beach today in my Scottish houndstooth cap, came across this lean-to and assumed somebody's been sleeping on the strand. A closer look revealed the structure is sheltering a rock(!), so nobody could have slept in there. It's some funky altar to a strange god, is near as I can figure.
The jaunty angle of my cap is a response to the sun banging off the ocean, just shading my eyes.
