What Cap Are You Wearing Today?

Squirrels in my neighborhood are determined animals. I have metal cones that attach to the birdfeeders to discourage them. The determined squirrels fling themselves against the cones and eventually the clamps loosen and the cones slide down low enough for the squirrels to leap over them and climb the poles. Persistence. My solution today is to put plumbers tape on the clamp threads and crank those suckers tight.

A Cordova Cap was my "solution cap."

Well behind the front lines!
Just got this in the mail today, from Aviator headwear in the UK, custom made. I've been wanting a good 'crusher cap' since the 80s and now I finally have one!

This was the most expensive hat I've ever bought but it was worth every penny.
The insignia is an original private purchase 'pointy' eagle, which was very commonly seen on crushers. I'd had it sitting in a box for years, for the day I could get a hat like this.

I would like to introduce you to my new Cordova 8 panel cotton cap.
Yup, cotton cap. This cotton fabric is so soft and silky to the touch. Oh,la,la.

It is not a “light fabric “ like a poplin, but is a medium weight. I wear it this morning and perceive it will wear cool in warm weather.
Great patterned fabric that Jonathan Cordova has skillfully pattern matched in the panels and sides. Glorious and eye appealing outcome. Even folks who are not cap people should appreciate this cap. Don’t leave out the eight panel caps from your cap rack folks.

The liner wears excellent. I appreciate the liner on this cap as my bare pate can wear the top of the smooth silk liners easily.

Yesterday I got home to do some chainsaw work. My Cordova Cap made from Carhart material was the obvious choice for work. I got all the chainsaw stuff and chainsaw ready and had to switch to a ball cap. My ear protectors and eye screen would only fit over the ball cap. My cap stayed safe in the garage.
