More "Duckbill" than "Ivy" cap I think, but comfortable and well made. My first Sterkowski cap/hat, but probably not my last.

New cap day yesterday at my house. Thanks to Cordova Caps for my new wool cap.

The black, grey, white wool material is a great combo for me. While versatile today and I can easily see it being even more versatile fabric color combo in the cooler winter in Minnesota. This cap has a 2.5" brim that has Cordova's newer curved stitched brim. Like the many stitched fedora brims it makes the cap brim easy to shape, malleable while being able to easily hold a shape. The "in hand feel" of the brim is glorious.

I am showcasing my "new cap" with a new to me vintage cap block. The cap block will allow me to maintain my caps even through much harder wear. I am very pleased to be able to have my very own cap block.

Back to Cordova; Size, proportions, style (French cap style), brim size(dimensions) and the fabric are all exactly as I wished. The French Cap style I believed would better showcase the fabric and weave. The uninterrupted fabric top is stunning to my eye.

It is truly a first world luxury to own such a cap. Everyone should have a Cordova Cap!

Mr. Freedom's newsboy caps are big and floppy. The HBT is a bit heavier than my linen caps, but still works pretty well in this climate.
Out for a late afternoon swim today as there were showers off and on all day today.

Home this evening early. It after 6:00pm and I have the luxury of puttering about this evening. I headed down to the lake in the cap that I wore to work before the sun rose. This one piece cap inspired by the "Quiet Man" cap John Wayne wore in the movie of same name is terrific.

Hopefully the pics below showcase the sewn brim of the Cordova Cap.

The brim allows the cap to be tugged into place and easily shaped to my choice of a gentle curve.

On a 67'f evening the cap is a delight to wear around. Our temps should drop into the upper 50'sf tonight. Glorious summer weather!

I done gone and did it again--another Boston Scally Co. cap:

The "Peaky", their version of the eight-panel caps worn on the television series Peaky Blinders, this one made from a wool/polyester material with a grey and black Herringbone pattern. This technically being a "Newsboy" cap, its rather
"modest" proportions might not be to everyone's liking. Actually, all of Boston Scally's caps regardless of whether it's a single-panel "Ivy" cap, a six-panel, or an eight-panel "Newsboy", end up being some form of "Duckbill" cap because they all have that slight upturn at the very front. I personally don't think the shape works quite as well on their six-panel caps, but I like it on their versions of Ivy and Newsboy/eight-panel caps.

Yeah, me too. I have four Boston Scally caps now and they all have that upturn to some degree:

The two Ivy caps are on the left, the six-panel on the top right and the eight-panel, obviously, on the bottom right. I'm not overly crazy about the shape of the six-panel, I like the shapes of the Ivy caps, and I immediately liked the shape of the new eight-panel; the eight seams seem to allow the material to conform to my head differently from the other patterns, resulting in a more comfortable fit.

I think I now have five flat caps with a herringbone pattern, maybe six. And a Dobbs Trilby with a brown/tan herringbone pattern. So I suppose you could say I like the pattern and find it to be somewhat versatile.
