Thanks! These are probably the most unique "Hollywood" trousers I have...3 dropped loops in the back, pocket flaps on both back pockets, and in the front in place of belt loops two flaps with buttons. I guess they were really experimenting with designs back in the early 50s.

The design is very much like western trousers from the same period, especially the belt loops.

well we didn't want to do a Queen's jubilee party so we changed things a little, well she is German!!

I think you have misunderstood my reasoning, probably because my wording is at fault. Of course, it's true that the Queen is of German descent on her father's side, but I do NOT find this distasteful. While I can understand anyone not wanting to celebrate the jubilee, I do find your use of this particular point as a reason distasteful.

On a RL 1930's inspired kick lately:

RL belted action back wool and linen sportcoat, RL club collared shirt, 1930s tie, bespoke linen trousers made to a 1950s pattern, Cheaney spectators, and tweed Retro Sport cap.

Same outfit with an identical style but blue linen sport coat and an Akubra Country Club.
