Was DJing down the local for some 'punky rock' types last nite, so I thought I'd up the ante on the sartorial front... first outing for my new Hollywood jacket (black w/multi fleck panels and accents). That's my occasional DJ pard Ed on the right... :D

The very essence of sartorial splendor, Mario!

Tom, I too, would love to see temps in the 50s. It was in the 90s here today, getting wearisome.

I didn't really wear it, but here I'm trying on my grandfather's suit he bought (and probably had tailored for him) in Yugoslavia between 1967 to 1969, before emigrating to the United States in 1970. There are pictures of him wearing it in the 1970s as well. It's a mid-brown suit with a subtle pinstripe pattern. The tie is a narrow Trevira of similar vintage, too.

Does the suit fit OK? Obviously, it is a little more baggy than it needs to be, but maybe I can have it altered in the future. One thing I've noticed, is that this suit feels more stiff than any modern suit I've felt. It's comparable to tweed in the feel.

This is was early in the afternoon:

You know , it's funny, The Good, when I was young, I absolutely idolized my grandfather (and still do) and thought he was this huge man. Now that I am a grown man, I realize that I am far and away larger than he was. I couldn't get my arm in one of his suits, if I was fortunate enough to have it. I do have one of his hats, which sits on top of my head like a beanie.

At any rate, congrats on having the suit and it looks pretty sharp on you. A wonderful piece of your family history!

I can't really tell if the shoulders fit, but it looks pretty good. I would definitely get it altered. The slim lapels and proportions would be a bit better if it was a little more fitted.
