Lovely casual outfit Rue, much like I've been looking for work recently! Just a question... are you bare-legged or wearing nude stockings? I've always wondered about this, when it comes to bobby socks in the winter time... Same question goes for Tupps in your October outfit!

Thank you Lina Sofia! I think I'll follow Miss T's lead and add a belt next time ;)

Miss T already answered your question perfectly (I asked her the same thing  ), so I will just answer your other question.... I was bare-legged. It wasn't that cold out (about 37F), but now that it's in the 20s I'm going to have to wear stockings with them :)

Oh and thank you for your answer about the skirt Miss T! It looks perfect :)

Thanks everyone for the kind words  Sorry for the light flares, after the shot was taken we were informed that no photos were allowed in the theater (but at least i got one) I don't post myself often between work with the wee ones and ceramics class i fear for my threads :D but its nice to know that when i do it will be appreciated by others here.

Tups i just have to say the colors in your skirt are fantastic.

Mmmm...A knitting Pattern model...Now that's an idea!!;)
Blooming fantastic, but why so glum? You have the moon!!!
(Which in all honesty I’m rather jealous of!)
And Mr. Slick, I agree with everyone else- you could have been on the silver screen….or a knitting pattern model!;)

Hailey Green Hat: perfect attire for the ballet. Lovely!

Crazy D- lovely as always and thank you.

Thank you those who commented positively - together with those who positively abstained from it - here I bore you once again with my chameleon ways. Yet a different route taken from the basics of the previous outfit, this time trying to channel that special thing one finds in the 20's and 30's casual and sportswear. If only!

Modern I'm afraid, just a high waist/wide leg (well, as wide as they do it in these considered fashions :)) from Hobbs. A past season style, called Houston, in a mix of linen and wool.

I very rarely do this, because I feel ridiculously self-conscious when taking my own photo.

Here's today:

-- A two-piece patch pocket Donegal tweed suit from the late 1940s. Note the two outside breast pockets.

-- A late 1940s rayon knit tie.

-- A 1920s eight-panel cap by 'Waverly'.

-- A pair of 1950s dark brown suede shoes.

Hailey - You have certainly been hiding your lights under a bushel!! You look stunning! More photos please.

Miss Tups - a picture of perfection as always! I agree Mr Slick should definately be modelling knitting patterns, i can just see him looking pensive with a pipe and some ravishing fairisle number on looking the picture of understated elegance!

Rue - just lovely as always! I love the socks/saddle combo, very cute.

Mr Flooey - possibly one of my favorite photos ever. Charming!

Thank you, Miss sofia! I like to have fun with colors, textures and patterns. What the photo doesn't quite show is that the green shirt is made of end-on-end cotton broadcloth, and the tie has some thin yellow stripes -- the same yellow shade of the pocket handkerchief. The Donegal tweed --cream and brown, not greyish as the pictures shows-- has flecks of crimson, rust and yellow.

Perfection as always Marc. Are my eyes deceiving me or did you match the yellow handkerchief to the peek of yellow stripe in your tie?

Oh and thank you Miss S

You should get someone else to take your pictures so you don't feel so self-conscious and post more often. ;)

Quite seriously your posts in this thread are always very enjoyable because you have a certain ease with which you combine so many different colours. It's good inspiration for someone like me who rarely ventures outside my white shirt comfort zone.

Out of curiosity, do you ever wear two pocket squares with that suit (or other jackets with two breast pockets)?
