Those are really cool! I just ordered the black -- will review. Nice find!

I'll be interested in your review. Unfortunately, the XL are described as Euro 44-45, and I'm really a 46, so I'm hesitant to risk it.

Back on topic...

Sorry for getting :eek:fftopic:

What I wore today at the shop wasn't exactly classic or vintage, and is thus not pictured. It was just a black, 2-button, side vent peak with a green bengal stripe, with white cutaway collar & green solid tie to match. Needed a change up.

Anyways, I changed after work into a fresh, out-of-the-box cardigan from Jason at Thick As Thieves. I also ordered the cricket jumpers (an addiction of mine), which I will review after I wear it.

The construction is really well done, especially for the price. Good cotton, good fit, with a waist hem that isn't for the urban crowd (finally). The buttons on mine are MOP, which was an unexpected surprise. Be warned, it is slim fitting, but really comfortable.

Today:
Slim fit, cotton cable cardigan from Thick as Thieves.
Black & white neat dress shirt, Leo Rossi of Italy.
"Queens Guard" belt, black, by Fullum & Holt, from 319 Men
Jeans
Yorkshire Terrier

Different from usual, I know, but I thought it was worth a good review for a good product from good folks who deserve some good publicity.

Today's outfit is a little different. Not only is it Casual Friday at work, it's Packers Casual Friday here in Green Bay because of the game Sunday. Which I hate, because people wear all this tacky green and gold sportswear. But today, I decided to participate in my own way.

Jos. A. Bank black cuffed corduroys
Tommy Hilfiger kelly green shirt with contrasting white button-down collar and white barrel cuffs, altered for me by Maldonado Shirtmakers
(No sportcoat because none of mine really works with this shirt, and the shirt deserves to speak without competition)
Jos. A. Bank gold tie with black and white rep stripes
Gold collar bar angled down
Black braided leather belt
Swiss Army watch with black band
Calvin Klein Truth cologne
Jos. A. Bank black patterned OTC socks
Bostonian black kiltie tassel mocs

And for outerwear:

Adler black leather car coat
Black leather gloves
Black leather driving cap
(All of which makes me look a little like an Irish gangster :))

Very nice. The website for that company is www.thickasthievesla.com for anyone who wants one as well...

I'd like to see the suit you wore. [huh]

It is Arctically cold (albeit sunny) in Northeast Wisconsin today, which bodes interestingly for the football game tomorrow. I'm awfully glad I got my worn-out car battery replaced recently; today would have been the day I couldn't get the car to start. With a new battery, I had no problem.

Out and about in Appleton and Green Bay today. The two cities are 30 miles apart; I live in the former, work in the latter, and the highway between them is so well-traveled by me, it might as well be the hallway in my apartment.

I've got some blue tones going on today:

Navy single-breasted three-button ventless blazer
Marshall Field's "Field Gear" tan cuffed chinos with slightly wide leg opening
Enro light blue point collar shirt, open neck, crisp white tee underneath
Daniel Cremieux cobalt blue cotton sweater-vest
Light blue cotton pocket square, puff fold
Vintage trout fly in left lapel
Burgundy dress belt
Lorus watch with tan band (right wrist)
Polished stainless steel link bracelet (left wrist) (dressy piece, I wear it every day)
Tan ribbed OTC socks
Florsheim Imperial burgundy captoes (which seem to go very nicely with the trousers and socks)
Nautica black double-breasted topcoat
Black leather gloves
Scarf with horizontal stripes in different shades of blue
David Hanna speckled brown tweed cap (has enough tones in it that it didn't clash with the topcoat)
Polartec Arctic 180s black wrap-around ear warmers (like I said, cold)

I would never have thought of putting a boat neck sweater under a blazer. Never. Then I saw Lucky's picture, and I thought "What is he doing"? But, the more I look at it, the more I realized how this is a very sophisticated look. This is exactly what I expect to see Cary Grant wearing while strolling along Rodeo Drive on a Saturday afternoon. Thanks for the lesson Lucky. I owe you one.

Thank you very much. That's a nice compliment. I'm thinking of growing my hair out a little longer on top while still maintaining it around the bottom.

Ah, tou know the old saying about "Variety being the spice of life"? Go for it Bama. Be interesting to know how your hats fit with the thicker hair.

Doing some personal work today

Since it's cold out (and that's relative for you guys up north, Marty, PM, Dinerman, etc.!) and I took care of most paper work yesterday, I spent the day working on some personal stuff for myself and some other law students here at the house. And I watched some football.

Today, I'm also going to give part II of my review of the sweaters I got from Thick as Thieves this week. Today I wore the steel blue cricket jumper. It's a thin pullover, which is good for fit and temperature regulation for me. Very well made material, although obviously different from the cable knit of the cardigan. Good color, and nice fit. Very well done for the money. If you're looking for a great jumper with a good fit and a decidedly Gatsby-era/vintage feel (and also goes well with jeans), I recommend giving this one a shot.

Sunday, Jan. 20:

Blue cricket jumper by Thick as Thieves
White cotton button collar shirt by Gitman Bros., from 319 Men
My signature trouser, worsted in light silver gray with a small herringbone weave, from 319 Men
Black suede bit loafers from Gucci, worn out (or in?) and great for bumming around

:eek:fftopic: Maybe it's because I'm from the south, or because I'm just not that cool (get it, get it? lol) but I've never actually known anyone who curls. I love watching it, for some reason. Besides the bobsled, it's the one thing that I get excited about the Winter Olympics for.

On a less off-topic note, I like the sweater a lot. And the hat = nice flourish in an otherwise neutral sport setup.
