Today I'm sporting a gray herringbone tweed, patch pocketed, #1 sack suit from the halcyon days of Brooks Brothers. These suits went unmolested by the vagaries of fashion for decades, so I have no idea when it was made, other than that it is pre 1980s.

Wow! You look great in this suit. Love it. Where can I get one in 42L? ;)

Usually not worn outside. But when, together with my usual black lightweight-hikingboots or my less-used beige summer-sandals.
Hmm....Have you tried Mexican Huarache sandals? I wear those with linen trousers with side tabs, or with linen trousers with a matching slim line leather belt, or rope/canvas with leather front belt and a teal or salmon colored linen T shirt on particularly hot days when I have to be at my in-laws' house (they are not big believers in AC.....UGH). Topped with a panama hat. Are the sandals vintage inspired, or just regular ones?

Polo Ralph Lauren cotton/linen Colonial models with cuffs, and side tabs in ivory, Oxford blue linen shirt with military style flapped pockets and dark blue buttons (NO epaulettes), palest putty colored linen cotton safari style sport coat (unlined) with double breast pockets and all pockets breast and hip flapped and pleated, notch lapel, SB with half belted back and cuffs that are designed to turn back with single hidden buttons, antique ivory colored plain toe Oxford shoes with full Vibram soles (vintage, acquired over the weekend), dark carrot orange colored Summer socks from Tommy Bahama. Lol! Usually assortment of Art Deco jewelry, vintage 50s PB cloth necktie in matching dark carrot orange - worn loosely - It's already getting HOT! (on the narrower side of standard width - also acquired over the weekend), Trusty Panama Hat.

Sorry for the bad quality...

Grey pinstripe peak lapel-single breasted suit in summery wool, white poplin shirt with double cuffs, blue/black/silver tie from 60s and sterling cufflinks.

A mirror shot, I take it? I love the lapels on that suit Sir! Can't make out the tie, so I can't honestly comment. You need a pocket kerchief or scarf. I'd love to be able to see the cuff-links though! Dang. Hat? Did you keep stays in the collar?

So, yesterday; medium gray high rise flat front worsted wool trousers from Carol & Co., look like they're maybe from the late 70s early 80s, Gray, Blue, Ivory, and cream and red windowpane plaid Southwick Sport coat with notched lapels, 3 roll 2 buttoning, and single vent (sack cut), flapped pockets, ivory with cadet blue and red micro paisley pocket scarf in a simple puff and pinch fold, red socks, Brothers Brook OCBD shirt in royal oxford; Oxford blue, no tie, saddle tan pebble grain leather belt with tapered tip and gold buckle, gold Universal Geneve wrist watch from the 30s, Grandpa's gold pinkie ring with 3 garnets set into asterisks, gold wedding band, plain gold signet ring (just my sigil - a deer/Hart's head, coming out of the cleft in the top of a heart, looking to the left, not my family coat of arms, and no stone on this one), and my trusty Dobbs Jet 707 in cornhill, also my tan Oxfords with brogueing at the edge of the toe cap and around the inset uppers by the lacing. Copper and magnet bracelet for the arthritis on my left hand. :/

Today; ivory twill Vintage RL high rise wide legged trousers with cuffs, double inverted pleats, and side tabs, pale blue spear-point collar shirt D&G in poplin, bone white chunky Summer socks, russet and ivory spectator wing-tips with blucher lacing, silver jewelry usual; and sapphire and white gold pinkie ring, ivory and cadet blue and almond-brown and dark cream plaid tweedy sport-coat but super soft, with a rusty-wine over-window-pane (Vintage RL), and wine colored silk pocket scarf with a puff and single point, no tie, usual Dobbs Jet 707. Unfortunately I realized about half-way to work, that I'd lost so much weight since I bought the shirt last Summer that it doesn't fit as well as it used to......Drat and a Total Drag. Meh. We might get out of the office early today!

Love the sound of those trousers - why do you not add pictures to your descriptions, would make it so much more fun!

Keep them comming on the less! :)

Yes, the picture was taken with the laptop's webcam, which has a very low resolution. Plus, office lights are making that worse.
The lapels are indeed very nice, great shape. I had a kerchief in my pocket but I forgot to put it back after blowing my nose when I took the photo!
I will try to take a better shot of cufflinks and yes, I use collar stays while I don't wear hats.

I've been meaning for a long time to get myself a pair of Mexican-made huarache shoes. Closed front, possibly laced, and car tire soles.
If I can find those I'll be a very happy guy.

Ah thanks! Heh. They are some of my Favorite Trousers, along with this other pair that I have in creamy bone linen with 1/25" cuffs, double pleats, and a Super fresh feel (but I need to add a stiffener to the inside of the cuffs, as they flap around a bit despite the relative high weight (but low density) of the trousers.....LOVE white and cream pants! The second pair are particularly interesting as they have a 3.5" broad belt loop at the back. I guess I never have to worry about my belt riding up my back over my trousers in the heat.....I still need to find my perfect braided bone belt with proper russet leather and brass fixtures for the fastening. It's amazing how hard it is to find such a previously common thing.....

As to the pics; I usually do this in my spare time at work once my daily research is done, and the camera on the cell is not the best, likewise, I spend a good deal of my free time working on one of my other favorite things, which is writing, and I view it as an entertaining mental and literary exercise to find new and yet still consistent ways to describe my same clothing (or different clothing) on the daily. I will have to see about posting up some pictures from home though. Ha! Thanks for the very nice comment Sir! Have a Superb Tuesday! :)
