The heaviest jacket I have owned was a Star Glove straight zip CHP style. The heaviest jacket in my present collection is a Star Glove cross zip. I have a Lost Worlds Trojan 4 oz HH incoming from an FL member, maybe the LW will go head to head with the Star Glove? I will have to borrow my sons' fish scale or step on the bathroom scale wearing the jackets.

I fail to understand the interest in overall heaviest. One guy wears a size 48 another guy in the same jacket sized 38 will have an overall lighter jacket. If you want to do some weird leather jacket weight flexing at least develop an algorythm to find the heaviest per square inch.

My interest is not for compete “who has the heaviest jacket” but more on what kind of jackets does the forum have, how heavy it is and what kind of weight when we talk about when we said it’s heavyweight jacket.

I never had a leather jacket before and not easy to find good one in hot country like Singapore. Thus I am surprised when I first get one weight 3 KG and even more surprised when others have jackets weigh more than that.

Just to share my experience, the weight is surprising at first and a bit uncomfortable at first because it was still very stiff. But now I really appreciate it now as it’s getting softer

3kg is already a heavy jacket no doubt about that.
My heaviest is about 3.6 I think, don't have the numbers at hand, my most used ones are a bit under 3.
But as said earlier, it really depends on how the weight is distributed, so weight is just a fun topic to discuss, nothing more :)

I'm late to this party. I have a lot of jackets, in sizes ranging from 38 to 46, and lengths from waist to hip. Most of them are on the heavy side. The very heaviest weigh about 8 lbs. Most of the heavy ones weigh about 6 lbs to 6.5 lbs. For me this is plenty. My lightest jackets weigh about 4.5 lbs.

Weight is correlated with thickness and stiffness by and large, but not always. Thinner leather can be denser or packed with more wax and oil, for example. Generally a hard hand correlates with stiffness, and a softer hand with suppleness or being fully broken in. My heaviest jackets are made by Natel, Cal Leather, Vanson, Lost Worlds, and Aero. My custom Hillside USA is one my heaviest, but it is soft and supple. My long lost The Real Deal was super heavy, but I never thought to weigh it. It might have been 8-10 lbs, and of a moderate hand and semi stiff.

I'm boring on this but I don't like heavy leather. It never feels comfortable and it is unnecessary. My heaviest is a Vanson that weighs 5.5 pounds. My preference is for jackets no heavier than 4 pounds. That's why I go for goat and mid-weight horse and prefer 2.2 to 2.5 oz thick.
Hi. I agree. The thickest in ounce and heaviest leather I like for my Leather Jackets.

The jacket in OP is on sale at the moment at Schott’s site, by the way, along with a couple of other really beautiful models that I’m sad to see being discontinued.
