Out on a provisions run for Saint Patrick’s weekend coming up, under a Gannon Highwayman.

Getting caught up on a few projects. This is a custom Western that I built for a customer. It's about ready to go to its new home. The customer wanted a Cutter crease but with something more pronounced than just two bumps. This is what we came up with. The brim width is 4 1/8 inches with a wide curl and "pull downs, front and back", (last picture).

I don’t buy many new western hats these days; usually on the average of maybe one felt and one straw per year. I can’t SWEAR this is brand new, but it certainly does not appear to have ever graced anyone’s head before mine.

I bought this, the moment I saw it advertised, for three reasons 1) I own a 7X beaver American I use in CAS, and it’s a phenomenally well-made hat. 2) I’ve always wanted a hat in black cherry. Yes, it’s hard to capture the color on film, but in real life, in sunlight, it’s a stunning hue. 3) This is a 10X, and it was priced at roughly 25% of current, out-the-door prices. Bonus, upon receiving it: the gentle kettle-curl to the brim. This has a VERY “1940s Stetson” vibe to it, and that’s absolutely one of my sweet spots.
