I agree 100%, Terry. I prefer most of my hats to be well kempt to at least a substantial degree. But every now and then, I just want to put on one whose working history is more apparent.

Nothing at all special today, except the memory of a peaceful, scenic, 90-minute drive out into the farmlands west of Boise early one Sunday morning, and a nice conversation with a lady selling a hat from a family estate she was settling. It's a Bailey New West, that I place as probably dating from the early 80s.
