Tatton Baird 100X 3-cord on a cooler rainy afternoon.
>In the earlier photo, the men wore their hats pushed up high on their foreheads or even higher and above their hairline
They did that for the photos. Getting a phot taken was a BIG deal back in the day. Everyone wanted to be seen, not look like soem yokel with their face hidden. No one ever wore a hat on horseback (past a sombrero and even the Gringos were Sombreros different and father down on their head) with the hat on the back of their head. Hat wouldn't be there long if they did.
Most that need and wear a hat to keep the sun off their head, and sun out of their eyes. Come on guys.
I *LOVE* this one HJ.A day under a 4X6 all natural beaver Ritch Rand in the style worn by Tom Mix in 1929.

Beautiful hat, Brent!I received three new hats today, and two were straw. Despite the weather, I’m wearing this Northwest custom pure beaver around and I don’t want to take it off. Mike at Northwest makes a fantastic firm felt modern western hat.

That's a sharp hat, Brent, very nice! I particularly like the color. It looks to me like it has some brown in it, like the older Winchester granite color had, instead of the pure gray/charcoal color that the new granite felt has. Does it actually have a brown component, or is it maybe the green background causing it to look like that?
Probably a moot point, as I guess Ukrainian felt is not available any longer?
Hi Brett, that really fits you right. I need to get one that color also. I wear mainly earth tone stuff.I received three new hats today, and two were straw.
