I finished my Resistol Ridgetop. Everything that was original to the hat, except for the sweatband, was reused. I reblocked this from a 7 1/8 LO to a 7 1/4 LO. The original block profile was completely changed on my RA block. The brim on this one was originally 3 1/2 inches but it looks like the previous owner cut it down to 3 1/4 inches. After reblocking the hat the new open crown height was 5 3/4 tall. So to make the brim more proportionate to the crown height I cut the brim down to 3 inches wide. I creased the crown to a Cattleman and gave the brim a moderate "Cowboy" curl.

Cool morning afforded another chance to wear my new BCD in open crown.

Had this old Stetson in the goodwill pile but then pulled it back. It had high fenders and a standard cattlemen’s crease. I steamed the brim down and tried a quick mule kick. Now I think I’ll add it to my hiking/ law work hats.

I really like this Canadian Stetson I took it right out of the box from Canada and started wearing it on my walks through the woods

I have a Chute 5 7X. It’s what you’d expect from modern western felt. It’s nothing special, but there isn’t anything wrong with it if you like stiff/firm felt westerns.

New straw for my birthday. American Hat Company out of Bowie, TX purchased at the fantastic Best Hat Store in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards. CHL brim and crown shape (Best Hat will serve you a cold beer while their guys are shaping your hat). Andy did it up right!
