Jared, first one of those I've seen and I like it. Have you seen the "Dakota" model from Stetson being offered through LVC?

This might be intersting here. An invoice for half a dozen Stetson "Big Four's" in black from 1916. I am including a copy of a picture of a "Big Four" from an early 1920's booklet "Stetson Staple Shapes".....

Here is a really cool extra large advertising matchbook from the 1930's. It is about four times the standard size.....note the matches are made to look like a fence gate.....love the artwork!!

Ok, and now a recent addition to my hat stable......a reproduction (an old one) of a model 1883 or 1889 US Army campaign hat (it has features of both)......fairly dirty, but I gave it a really good brushing and steaming.....sweat is sheepskin and in greatshape (apparently replaced sometime, as it does not match the rest of the hat, both inside and out for wear and soiling). Sweat is labeled XXXXX, Beaver Quality, water repellent on one mark....and Stockman (cannot find anything about them), Created in California in the other mark..it is definitely a real nice fur felt......,..I will not give it a bath or remove any more soiling as it matches the fading and gives it a great worn in look.......this will see a LOT of head time with my 501 Khaki Jeans.....Fits like a glove!!

Yes.......and thank you..........it is nice finding a nice fur felt rather than the wool ones.......I was surprised to see it show up on the Bay listed as a wool cowboy hat......AND even better.....with a cheap BIN!!!!
I could not be more pleased.......I like the army hats when I am outside actually working or bumming around in jeans......when I had Horses they were a staple for the long rides too............yep, very, very, pleased!!

Great picture!! You look good up there!!! Horse greatly looks like one of my old horses, Joe.....I used to use an old slick fork 3/4 seat on my half Arab.....and a 50's basket weave hard seat on my quarter horse Joe......on the long Trail rides I had an army saddle for each......dont have many pictures thought.....pre-cell phone mini camera days.......
