Here is my Bailey mustang, panama. When I got it, it was in excellent condition. After wearing it on some hiking trips, the sweat began to dry. I applied lexol and it is wearable, but on it's way out. I may replace the sweat.

Howdy everyone, been out of the loop here lately. School and cotton and calving season have kept me busy. Did a touch up on one of my grizzly felts, went back to a two chord and had trouble choosing a shape and stumbled upon this, hope y’all like it.

Just picked up this cool booklet!!!! Cannot wait for it to arrive!!! Was folded in someones pocket at some time but I am really glad to have found this one.....I would say it dates from the 30's or a little earlier. Should know more when it arrives.

This Miller Bros. "Sterling Beaver" was a gift from @Michael R (thanks buddy!!). Not sure of the beaver content, but the gold "wallpaper" applied to the end of the box implies that it was their top-of-the-line hat. This is the second crease I've put in it and it shapes easily. The felt feels amazing.

I really like that one HJ. I ended up putting side dents on my Stagecoach after comparing it to yours.

What a nice score. The weave is beautiful, and I bet it is very light. Some of Bailey's late fifties straws are excellent. Don't know for sure, but I would bet that is mid to late fifties.

Thanks D-dog! It is very light! The straw reacted nicely to a distilled water mist and steam when reshaping. I also learned that Bailey's U-Rollit name referred to the wire in the brim that allowed one to shape as desired. Thanks for narrowing down the date and the reference to the Miller-Stockman catalogs from the 1950s. Here is another one that was on eBay recently:

^^^I have one but it is not a buntal. I picked it up because I liked the shape of the crown, but the straw is not of any quality & I've never done much with it. It's probably destined to be a hat worn by the head groundskeeper here at Hurricane Manor.
