Yes... the liquidation of a Western Wear store.Joao , Is it the Liquidation Sale Hat on eBay ?
I know. Been after a Resistol Hi-75 for a long time. It's also getting higher and higher
Lots of Diamond Horseshoe...
That's just my size, too. I thought you wore larger than that. I'd like to get my hands on a Silverbelly Hi - 75, myself. Just haven't had the means to treat myself lately.Yes... the liquidation of a Western Wear store.
It's a 7 1/4 LO.
Not the import tax, the actual shipping cost. When they started it was $250 to ship a hat to Europe. Now it's $25-$35!!I noticed all the Diamond Horseshoes , too . Many marked : PROMO . Several Colors I've never seen , Pastel Assorted , Chamois , etc. . Some look rough , others look good .
Awesome the Import Tax was cut 90% for you Joao !!! Is that the VAT Tax or is it included ?
You were having trouble to manage the crown of a Stagecoach saying it was too many crown and now you are hunting a bigger crown? That's just my size, too. I thought you wore larger than that. Yup, but I have plans for an Hi-75, though. I saw an old Western movie where Robert Mitchum wore a hat that I liked and it looked to be about those dimensions. I was wanting to give a shot at shaping one similar to it. Provided you have no objections, of course. About four years ago I had to have an emergency surgery and a second surgery followed a month after the first one. With the combined surgeries my total hospital stay was better than three weeks. My recovery time at home was much longer, though. It was during that time when I started collecting hats but I had lost a lot of weight , about 35 pounds, a result of those surgeries. Now that I regained my original weight the 7 1/8 hats I have no longer fit me. I wear a 7 1/4 now. The last two westerns I worked on are 7 1/4 and the custom that I had made is a 7 1/4, hope that meets to your approval. So now, I have a few 7 1/8 hats that I've been trying to trade off for 7 1/4s. I have a Stagecoach that's too small for me, a Royal Stetson OR that's a 7 1/8 LO, too small, and a rare late '40s Stetson Imperial that's too small, all of which I'd be willing to trade off.You were having trouble to manage the crown of a Stagecoach saying it was too many crown and now you are hunting a bigger crown?
I wore a size larger than you, only later you discovered you were my size.
I can also wear a 7 3/8, but mostly it's 7 1/4. You were a 7 1/8... now 7 1/4.
Sorry to ear about that. Surgeries are not a good thing.Yup, but I have plans for an Hi-75, though. I'm pretty much recovered, although I still have a few lingering effects. I was 12 hours in the ER before they took me into surgery. The scary thing for me was after having an X-ray they couldn't find anything, and at first was going to release me. My wife insisted, though, that I should have an MRI, or CT, can't remember which it was. After having that the ER doctor came in, gave me some dilaudid in my IV and then told me they found something significant. When I asked him if I was going to die he wouldn't answer me. But, here I am. I tried reblocking and stretching but they were still too snug. Some difference but not much. If I'm able to purchase more westerns in my near future I'm going to keep them that way. No more brim trim unless it becomes necessary because of damage. Just a bit of reshaping and reblocking.Sorry to ear about that. Surgeries are not a good thing.
7 1/8 hats are not for me. Have you tried to stretch and reblock them?
My "disapproval" only goes to brim trimming old hats.
I guess you could ask specific questions about western hats here. There would be plenty enough members who could probably help with most of what you're looking for. But if you have something western that's really old vintage and you're looking for answers there's a question and answer thread you could try.Is this the thread for all things Western or can I start specific threads too? For example, if I have specific questions about different aspects of Western covers?
Nice job,TJ.I like the colors.Just finished reblocking and recreasing this Resistol Stagecoach in Chestnut. I gave the crown a Gus Crease. I also sewed on a hard to find seven ply mid ribbon with a simple bow in dark brown. The brim width on this one is just a tad under 4 inches but wider than 3 1/2 inches. This is one of the hats that's just a little snug on me. I don't wear it much for that reason, and I don't care much for the color. The hat is softer and more pliable than some of my other Stagecoaches, though.
Same as Terry. You can ask here.Is this the thread for all things Western or can I start specific threads too? For example, if I have specific questions about different aspects of Western covers?
Thanks RJ, Joao. I'm not exactly happy with it. I may change it out again.Nice job,TJ.I like the colors.
