Western, anyone?

Re-shaping the crown on one of my Cowboy Shooting hats, sparked an idea for one for every day wear. A workable candidate (a mid-to-late-70s Resistol Hi-7) showed up for sale a day or two later, and I jumped on it.

It arrived earlier this week, and here's the result. I punched the crown out to it’s full height, then gave it a sizeable rear dent, a slightly indented top, and a severe, slightly asymmetrical, front pinch.

I am SUPER happy with how this turned out, and it accompanied me on my numerous out-and-about tasks early this morning. View attachment 704488 View attachment 704489

Awesome look, Mark! The hi-7 is one of my favorites — so much you can do with them.
