First: Whoever shipped a hat in a poly shipping bag should be publicly stoned to death...or at least grounded for a week.

Those U-Rollit hats can be nice, and yours looks to be from the period where they made a good straw hat. Good luck with the repairs.

What color and how wide? I think that will be a good choice for the look you're going for. Bond has made up 3 or 4 bows and ribbons for me, including the wide gold one on my Nutria Quality. Not expensive and worth it to not have to source ribbon and fret over the curl on a WAR.

It's a 4x6 so I'm thinking 1-3/4" which will come up just below the two factory grommets & cover the small one someone else added. The hat is Taupe Fawn or Fawn (not sure which) so I'm thinking Taupe for the ribbon color. Don't want chocolate or black.

Thanks for the tip on Scott. I never thought of having one made up without having to ship the hat off.

Re tunnel pic.
Hope it isn't against the rules to post this here.
A similar tunnel runs under the Solent - the stretch of the English Chanel between Warsash area (Southampton) and the Isle of Wight. The tunnel houses the power cable to the Island and engineers walk the cable length to inspect it. As mentioned earlier, locations like that are a daunting experience and spooky to boot.

I used to shoot with one of the engineers who was doing the walk and a couple of the others confirmed this.

During a check all hell broke out towards the back of the gang, shouting and panic with some of the guys grappling. A young lad at the end of the gang had slipped on a monster mask and grabbed the shoulder of the guy in front while emitting a groaning wail. Chap in front panicked and laid into 'monster' with dirty great Maglite. When all calmed down they carried the unconscious lad back to start and called the bosses.

Such high spirits are no longer allowed.
