Well, I guess more pictures of this hat can go here, because of the indeterminate vintage and refurbishment, but in its original form, it likely belongs in the pre-1940's thread.

I worked a dry diamond crease into it. This definitely has that clay-like felt. I really need to get a scale precise enough to measure hats, but just in hand, this hat feels relatively light compared to others of similar proportions.

What remains of the original labels:

VS liner:

Creased pics, no steam needed!

These hats are so special. I’m sure Art enjoyed working with this one.
Hard not to be a favorite of favorites.
The felt on these are one of a kind!
Beautiful!!

This 4x Open Road has become pretty much my go to these days. It went on a road trip to TN with me this weekend.

I grew up in Nashville, although I no longer live there, but do still work there. It’s been changing in front of our eyes! There are parts of town I barely recognize.
Hope you enjoyed your trip.

I can believe it. We had a good visit. Beers were drank, country music was listened to, and my girlfriend completely filled up the back of the car with all the stuff she got at the big flea market. A successful weekend.

So I've been scouring all the Stetson ad threads, and I have a 'best guess' as to the Stetson I got from Vic on the previous page.
Stockman-Farmer Sping 1929

The Columbia appears in the early 1900s catalog as a Boss Raw Edge quality hat. 5 3/8" crown, 3" brim (I think...references are a little blurry for those little fractions). In later Stockman catalogs, as a No. 1 Quality hat.

The 1900's catalog description notes that "The Genuine Boss Raw Edge Kettle Finish hats are not made in less than the Nutria quality at the prices herein given...We, however, make an imitation of these shapes in the No. 1X and No. 1 qualities."

I've been wearing it almost every day, and I agree with the last ad, "a good all around hat for looks and wear." It certainly was a consistent model for several decades. There's just something so aesthetically pleasing about these vintage rolled edges.

That's a great hat Jared!

I’ve had this Stetson No. 1 Quality hat for a couple of months, but only recently have I suspected it’s older than the seller claimed.

This first photo is the true color:

I love this hat Brent. It’s about my favorite color/ribbon contrast. A near spittin image of my Nutria Boss non-raw edge oddball western. And yeah, yours is an oldie!
Super!!
