Winston, you remind me of researcher & author Mark Amaru Pinkham. And I know you have most of your brims trimmed but I think brims in the 3" to 3-1/8" range would be a perfect look for you.View attachment 133074 View attachment 133075 View attachment 133076 View attachment 133077 View attachment 133078 Stetson Amish 4X Felt Bashed Open Crown. 3" Black Bound Edge Brim. 1" Black Ribbon and Bow w/Red and Black Feather.
I have been trimming my brims since the mid 80's. Now a 4" or bigger brim looks huge to me. Most of my Stetson and Resistol's are cut to 2.75" or 3".Winston, you remind me of researcher & author Mark Amaru Pinkham. That looks really good. Some Stagecoachs even had hideous brim binding. Great makeover!I told myself I wouldn't buy any more hats when I can damn well make them for myself, but it's just too hard to pass up a nice old, bound edge Stagecoach for less than price of dinner. I didn't take a before picture, but this one had the standard, hideous macramé hatband so you can imagine. A quick brushing, dry crease, an old Boy Scout band, and she's good to go.

Thanks Brent. The last skinny chef I met worked 16 hour days, every day, all fueled by copious amounts of crack cocaine. Not a great career move, but damn the man could cook.Looks good, Rick. I’m glad to see you adding to your collection: it’s along the lines of not trusting a skinny chef.

You read the novel by Elmer Kelton, then watch Tommy Lee Jones in the movie."So what do you do with Good Ole Boys Like Me?"

Too damn bad. The world needs more good western movies. You read the novel by Elmer Kelton, then watch Tommy Lee Jones in the movie.

Last I knew Tommy Lee Jones still owns the screenplay rights to two more Kelton novels but he said after the Homesman they would probably never get made into movies because it is so hard to get studio financing for a Western today.
Ted Turner owns the screenplay rights to Jeff Shaara's "The Last Full Measure". The last of the trilogy, after "Gettysburg" & "Gods and Generals" Turner said it likely wouldn't get made.Too damn bad. The world needs more good western movies.
That's too bad. Great trilogy, I just listened to Gettysburg about a month ago.Ted Turner owns the screenplay rights to Jeff Shaara's "The Last Full Measure". The last of the trilogy, after "Gettysburg" & "Gods and Generals" Turner said it likely wouldn't get made.
I've read the 3 books & have the 2 on DVD. I watch them frequently, love Gods and Generals. That's too bad. Great trilogy, I just listened to Gettysburg about a month ago.
