I posted this one in the Italian Brands thread earlier, but several of the honorable members of the lounge thought it would be nice to post it here as well. So here it is: European produced western. It's a Barbisio Cowboy. Size 58, 9cm brim and 11 cm crown (at the pinch). Nice sturdy but not overly stiff felt. Basting stiches still in the bow. Nice colourful liner too. I'm normally a 56 or 57 size, but this one fits me. If I put it on I feel I'm channeling Lee van Cleef (I know his hats had a different shape, but what can you do?). I'm at a
loss when this could have been made. I'm guessing late fifties, early sixties, maybe? Enjoy and do visit the Italian Brands thread: lots of fine hats there.

I think Chocolate is dark Brown , more like Cordova (looks almost Black , especially at a distance), than Mink (my choice of those two) . Personally I'd go Sahara , or Natural (high underrated , and only a shade apart , almost unnoticeable) . If you like 6X Stetsons .

The chocolate was very rich, dark brown. Not terrible, but not to my liking. I prefer mink or oak in browns. So I returned it (it was way too big too, which is funny since I have two of the same size already). It may have been mismarked.

Even on my Stagecoach hats, the same size differs a bit. Maybe worn out blocks or different shrinkage...

Don't you mean 100X Joao ? I know the 6X I have couldn't take it , but it might be a one off . The felt got lumpy after getting soaked . Personally I like 3X , 4X , 5X , and the 15X , 20X , 30X way better . Haven't had my paws on a HatCo or Vintage Stetson or Resistol 50X , or 100X , YET . But one day I might .

The 6X wasn't really bad until the rain disaster . I don't think mine was normal .

Yes, 100x.
It doesn't rain much here nor I walk a long way in the rain so I can't tell much.
My 80'x 4x that met UK weather is no longer stiff...
