I am regretfully listing these boots as I've come to realize that they simply don't fit my feet. I bought these Wesco Mister Lous from Iron Heart UK in October 2021. Originally, they were brown CXL but I overdyed them black using Fiebings leather dye. If you look closely you can see some brown peeking through on them, but it's very subtle. "Teacore", as the kids say.
I had some work done on the boots at Dimar Shoe Repair in Guelph, Ontario. They did a great job. I had them stretched in width in the forefoot (to very little effect) and had the instep straps replaced because the CXL straps were stretching too much for me. I also had the toe box structure removed, so they are now soft toe. As I said, I was having some problems with the fit. I have a low volume instep but a wide forefoot and long toes, which just doesn't really work for these (or any other) engineer boots.
I really like the look of these boots and it pains me to sell them, but I've had them sitting in my closet for months and can't justify keeping them any longer. I know the Wesco lead times are a bit crazy right now and I haven't been keeping track of their availability from retailers, so this may be your chance to get a used, but well cared for pair quickly and at a reasonable price. I would consider these boots CXL lottery winners, the grain is pretty consistent across the boots and there are no weird spots.
Brand new these cost me about $700 USD. Hoping to start these off around $400 including shipping within ConUSA/Canada and see if anyone is interested. No trades, no absurd lowballs please. Feel free to ask any questions you may have.
