I remember two articles, circa 1967. One was about a new layout of shopping center called a "mall."
The other was about those nuisance birds, the starlings.

Oh bummer! I loved that when I was a kid! Boy, that kinda smarts to hear that they're closing. I haven't seen one of those in a little while now, but I remember getting a few issues as a gift.

Somewhere in the trunk full of my old school papers is a copy of the Weekly Reader issue announcing the premiere of an exciting new concept in children's TV, "Sesame Street." I remember reading that article and thinking "hmph, it'll never last."

I distinctly remember an article they featured on a man who had chronic hiccups. He could only eat food out of a blender. I can still see the picture of him, too. Every time I get hiccups, I think of that article. Every. Time.

Yeah, this is how life goes. People, places, things all change or pass. I don't want to live to 100. Or maybe Alz will set in and I'll forget all this stuff I loved.
