Wearing an AERO HIGHWAYMAN in your actual size

Anyone here wearing a Highwayman in your normal jacket size, i.e.; not sized down? If so, do you have pictures? I'm just curious to see what one looks like when worn 'as intended'. I normally wear a 42 but went with a 38 hywmn.

I can't imagine it 2 sizes larger on me, but to be fair I've never tried one or seen one when worn this way

I usually wear 38/40(EUvsJapan) and had a Hwm in size 38 which was to big on me(don't know if it was the older smaller pattern, or the one that Aero uses today), didn't like the amount of space around the stomach(way to ( ) shaped for me).

I really like the look of the OG Highwayman, but If I was to get another one in the future I would have to go 36, hope this helps.

It's supposed to be worn short. The pattern got bastardized over time, by people adding length to the jacket (something that I am guilty of) which is okay I suppose if someone doesn't like their jacket to be this short and wide but with the extra sleeve & back length, from just roomy/boxy, the jacket in wearers size becomes simply too large.

Aero should've never ever allowed any kind of modifications. . .

This is, to me, pretty much ideal Highwayman fit...

Aero 50s Highwayman size 40 measures the same as Vanson model B in current tag size 42. Shoulder is 19” in the front, 24” P2P, 22” hem (44” bottom opening circumference). The length is one inch shorter sleeve and body on the Highwayman. The collar/neck hole is also 1.5” smaller, making back length measure longer but is actually not that long because the smaller collar tilts towards the front.
If you downsize the 50s Highwayman to fit the torso then a lot of other things may not work, sleeve hole, neck hole…etc. the neck hole is small as it is now when compared to other brands.
It won’t look oversized if you wear your chest size. It just looks boxy armpit down. Anyone 6’ or taller can benefit from adding an inch to length if you’re used to the modern American jackets lengths. Here is my size 40 with one inch added to sleeve and body, it measures exactly like my Model B size 42 jacket but the Highwayman neck hole is still 1.5” too small.
