I'm curious as to what this thread contributes to the hat forum, with the exception of mentioning that you'd wear your semi-calado to the game. Not to bash you, Monbla, but this could go in a straw hat thread, the WHAYWT thread, or the Post New Hats thread. Again, I've nothing against it, but eventually when the bartenders see this, they're probably going to say the same thing.

IT has NOTHING to do with hats, just an enthusiastic fan being enthusiastic. i did state that it was OT so if it's pulled so be it !! Spend 38 years trying for something and when you do it let me know how YOU feel :)

No prob guy :) I played my first baseball game 55 years ago in a field we made out of a friends dad's unused pasture. Hat wise, NOBODY had a baseball cap but we wore our cowboy hats as i recall !! :)

And I tip my hat the the whole Rangers organization. Of course ESPECIALLY to Nolan Ryan, the greatest pitcher of ALLLL time (as Muhammed Ali would say).
I'm a BIG Yankee fan, but I have to say, it's no fun if nobody else gets a chance.

Don't forget the Washington Senators years - more like 49 years without a pennant for the franchise. How cool would it have been if the Rangers had played Minnesota for the pennant, Old Senators vs. New Senators.

By the same token, I was thinking it would have been cool to see another Yankees - Giants series. The Yankees' first three series (1921, 1922, 1923) were all in the Polo Grounds (both teams' home park), and the Yanks got their first championship in 1923, They also played in 1951, and in 1962, after the Giants had moved from Manhattan to San Francisco.

I'm also a big Yankees fan - but the Rangers earned the win...Congratulations to them and their fans! After the blown call giving the Yankees the tie, karma won out.

To keep it near topic - I'm wearing a Yankees cap in mourning as I type.

Since the Cardinals blew it down the stretch, I always root for teams that have not been there for a while, so I was hoping the Rangers would win! CONGRATS, I will be rooting for them in the Series too!
