I've been a customer of Warhorse for many years and would recomend them anytime and been down to their place several times and always been made welcome, yes waiting time is about six months but if some of you armchair critics took into account how long it is to make a uniform and their order book is full for the next six months or so you might understand better, service well they have always gone the extra mile to give satifaction, products are good certainly there officers shoes, apart from being better than Baits cost a lot less I brought a pair of Baits shipping was $46 then got hit for VAT and customes dute shoes cost well over£120 . I know the coiuple work full time which doesn't help. Just remeber most traders these days are cottage industies and aren't full time and most stride to give you what you can't buy elsewhere and shipping in from the states is dam expensive and a lot of aggro trying to sort out and as stated I've never been charged untill ready. Knowing these people I would dispute some comment on here about them but then one of the reasons I don't like forums very much these days.

To be honest, I thought they had stopped trading. I even though the website had gone but it appears to be here (click here)

I bought a uniform from them many years ago. It was OK apart from the side cap which was totally wrong. From my own experience I would trade with them again until I saw all the comments on this and other forums about poor service. To be honest there are a number of suppliers of repro uniforms, so why take the risk?

I was down there Friday brought a load of stuff, my wife brought a uniform and the alterations were done while we waited. Can't complain about that, they were very helpfull, they are however snowed down with work so the time element seems reasonable and that must tell you something. I think for some reason or another there seems some sour grapes on here or some kind of secret agender with people. I'm happy to continue to buy from them and recommend them for quality and service. Lets face it you'll always get plenty of gripping on forums no matter what people do.

I'd never heard of these people until now so I googled them searching for "warhorse and reproductions".

Their website link came up first.

This thread came up SECOND.

If you haven't looked, here is what is front and centre on their main page:

Due
to the number of email and telephone calls received we can no longer reply to
email's chasing up orders, if you haven't received it its not ready,
tailoring is slow and precise and we do not intend to be under the pressure
of trying to get orders out. Order early as the waiting list isn't getting any
shorter.

And for a supposedly British site, they can't spell "favourite".... or "it's"...

I emailed Warhorse last month telling them I wanted a WAVES uniform made. They said to print the order form and I could mail or email it to them. I emailed it back with my measurements and what I wanted to order. Then, nothing. Have not heard a word. I just cannot find a place that does those uniforms.

Maybe you can try asking Della Rebours, who can tailor various uniforms... She is often recommended by and for female reenactors who struggle finding quality repro uniforms.

Alternatively, and depending on your size, there's an original WAVES uniform for sale here: http://www.sealmilitary.com/product.php?s=73&p=17

Hope this helps, good luck finding what you're looking for!

Give a very wide berth if I was you - communication abysmal - product poor - customer service poor.

In short: Ordered uniform from them June 2015, arrived November 2015 - wrong colour, virtually wrong in most of the details, - quite a bit later I found out that his uniforms are made in India, if I had known this, I would never have placed an order in the first place as I have since heard many complaints of items that come from India.
Early 2016 I returned the uniform to Warhorse with a promise that it would be put right - I still didn't know that it was going to be returned and made in India again.
I had to chase most months for any form of information as there was a complete lack of communication from Warhorse regarding the matter. Nothing arrived in 2016 only excuse after excuse from Warhorse.
Jump forward to a deadline date agreed by both of us for the first week September 2017 when Warhorse agreed that if the uniform had not materialised he would give me a settlement to draw this disaster to a close. Needless to say this never happened and what I received was still excuse after excuse, always passing the blame and with no intention of giving any refund.
End result - Unfortunately I had to take alternative action in getting my money back.
