WANTED: Vintage 7-1/2 Fedora

I’m looking for a vintage fedora, size 7-1/2, in good condition and for an affordable price (<$200). This would be my first fedora, and I’m looking for something in the “classic” 1930-40’s style; no ultra-short or -high crown, and same with the brim. Something middle of the road, no extremes.

I’d definetely prefer gray, blue, or black, and definetely want fur rather than wool felt. If any member is looking to sell a hat that matches the above description, I’d really appreciate it if you could send me a message. I’ve been prowling around this forum for quite some time, but now want to make the leap and buy my first fedora.

This is the general idea of what I'm after:

More along the lines of the Whippet; the Open Road tends to look a bit too western for my taste.

I'd offer this one, but I don't want to sell it, and besides, it's 7-3/8. But nice to see the possibilities, so ...

This is an Art Fawcett custom job. He'll do with our without the rim ribbon. I happen to prefer without.

Good luck on your hunt! I'm sure you'll find something great!

I have a modern (worn a few times) Stetson stratoliner in tawny. 4 inch crown, 2.5 inch brim for sale, asking $150. I'll attach pictures if it's something youre interested in. No damage or odor, just needs a steam and a brushing

Thanks for the offer, but I'm looking for a vintage hat.

I've found that I'm actually a 7-3/8 Long Oval, so I'd be interested in those as well as 7-1/2. I'd like a snap brim that's not too stingy. It probably seems like I'm being quite particular here, but I have a few hats already, and want something to fill this particular gap...
