Hi!

My last boots crumbled away and I decided to get a pair of W10 boots from Lewis Leathers. I need a size UK 9 but they seem to have problem getting it back in stock. I first contacted them in december and everytime I ask it's the same "in 6 weeks" answer.

I noticed that they have brown boots listed now as well, even in size 9 but they refuse to send pictures pf a brown pair. Could someone help me out with a picture of a brown pair?

Thanks!

I cannot find any online to pull up!--That is strange, but you can order brown ones!--John

I found a pic online but it has a lighter colour vthan the Pantone code they sent me. So it could be the flash lighten the boot up. I like the Pantone code but not the colour on the picture.

No one here owning a pair? I don't want to order them just to discover I do not like the colour :-(

I've handled a pair of Westways in brown and the colour was a true milk chocolate brown. Not a seal brown or really dark brown but more leaning towards mid brown without any reddish undertones. I liked them a lot.
Original-Flightjackets. com from Erkelenz used to stock LL boots. Maybe they can be of help...

Love the Westways - maybe one day..... Jinkies, if those prices are right, though, I don't see me affording Whites any time soon!

FWIW... Rufus (who used to post on here) has a pair of the Westways in black. I tried them on once - beautiful boots. Stylistically kinda comparable to an engineer boot, but a much snugger fit. I'd walk longer distances and all day in these, which I wouldn't the engineers.

I found another pic of the brown boots. These look completely different lol http://www.foundry.fi/?p=354

Anyway, I decided to get the black ones. I just hope these will be in stock soon, I'm waiting for over 5 months now for a UK 9 and their email support is strictly limited to one sentence replies without real info.

Perhaps a bit off topic but I remember the motorcycle police in Dublin being issued with those Lewis boots
in black as part of the official uniform issue in the 1980s.
(Honda CX 500s were the bikes at the time)

Looked again at the Lewis website the other day. If ever I do come into money... I noticed the photos of the W10 Westway boots appears to show one pair with commando soles, and one pair with flats. The description, however, only mentions commando lugged soles. Anyone know if they do them with flats (which I much prefer)?

I think the W10 boots have commando soles from size 6 on up. Smaller pairs have the other soles.

You could always change the soles when you get them I guess. Or are they open to custom boots?
