Ohh........

Miss Dottie and Miss Lizzy - WOW you both looked fantastic (finally finding the pictures and catching up). Love the courage it takes to wear what you want. I did similar but not vintage unfortunately as I was still a mad goth 4 years ago! I have fortunately lost some weight since then but want new photos done now too!!!!!!!!
Here is a pic so you can see what I mean!

Jitterbugdoll asked about the dress.... I salvaged the beaded peekaboo bustier from a 40's gown that no longer does up on me and, together with a very clever local seamstress, we created the rest. I love green and my 'muse' for the look was Ava Gardner! So many of my girlfriends would wear vintage Hawaiian because of the luau theme, I had to do something else but the sarong skirt is a nod to the Islands.

MissDottie's pages on The Knot are inspiring me to put a few more pictures and some of our stories together - although that's not 'very British' it seems - we must be too reserved! I can't find anything like her wedding bio generator on our bit of the web... or a community place to host it.

If you want to see the dress close up - I'll be wearing it at the Viva Las Vegas Weekender on Saturday night at Easter! Our trip to the West is the second part of our honeymoon...and I'm determined to wear that baby as often as possible to get my money's worth ;)

Oooh, that picture makes me want a Mai Tai. Everyone looks so nice. Many best wishes.
:eek:fftopic: Some of us were wishing there were a new room in the Lounge where guys and gals could talk about gal's clothes and stuff. That way guys could (please) stay out of The Powder Room but could chime in on pretty dresses and hairstyles and other interesting things.

That alone might get me to go this year.

Yeah, the Knot is a rather crazy thing. I started out doing it for my friend who is a wedding planner and she wanted me to break into the Knot because that demographic is so powerful for vendors and then you end up making friends with the ladies and doing the whole bio thing. I laughed at first, but then sadly became addicted. Sigh... The way of the weddings...

Weight loss

I just wanted to say way to go to the gals who lost weight to get into their dresses.. or lost for other reasons. It's so hard and you girls should be very proud!

I didn't lose all I wanted to before my wedding and would like new pics as well...

Invitations

Thanks to the help of you lovely ladies I found this invitation on Ebay:

I'm planning on having my fiance redo the image for me (he has a graphic design degree). On the back of the shoe I want the date and the back of the bouquet to have our names. The inside of the card will have the formal invitation.

I am thinking of having it be a tri-fold card with the last page being a perforated RSVP so people can return it easily.

Miss Lizzy- I'm sure I will!! I got into the wedding dress business because of how much fun I had planning weddings with my friends, I can't imagine what sort of fun planning my own is going to be!!
