Offered for sale is a vintage leather trench-coat. If any one has seen 'The Producers', with Gene Wilder, it is exactly the same kind of coat worn by Kenneth Mars in the character of 'Franz Liebkind'. See http://www.imdb.com/media/rm3431372544/nm0550318?ref_=nm_phs_md_2 for a photo of him wearing it.

Black goatskin in perfect condition. Pictures can be seen at https://flic.kr/s/aHsjyQFvuu

Measurements are as follows, using the chart at: http://www.acmedepot.com/a2jacket/measure.shtml

A - 23.5
B - 39
C - 20
D - 23
E - 44
G - 26
H - 16.75

Asking $400

Now going for $275.

I can't believe the lack of interest in such a classic. Is there another forum this would be better sold in?

I had some interest, but find your measurements confusing. The sleeve lengths seem to be inconsistent. Is this jacket about a 42 long?

The chart won't be an exact match because the A2 is a different beast. I was using it as a convenient way to indicate which measurement, so for example someone could see exactly how/where measurement 'A' was taken. There are so many ways to measure these things it's helpful to have as much standard as possible and the A2 guys seem to have zeroed in on that measurement system:

th_front_meas.jpg th_back_meas.jpg th_sleeve_meas.jpg

A better way to write it might be:

A: Chest (front): 23.5"
B: Length (front): 39"
C: Back (top of sleeves): 20"
D: Back (bottom of sleeves): 23"
E: Length (back): 44"
G: Sleeve (top): 26"
H: Sleeve (bottom):16.75"

I can see how you might think the sleeve measurements are inconsistent, but I just double checked and they are correct. The difference is because of the wide arm hole opening, so one of the lengths is different than the other. You see this in A2s as well, but not to the same degree.

To answer the simpler question, the jacket isn't marked, but I'd put it at a 42-44 long (as it's a trenchcoat). Designed to be worn as outerwear in bad weather.

I should probably either change that or start a new thread. The coat is very dark brown; almost black, but not quite.

Bump. $200. Another couple of weeks here without a sale and I'll give it to Goodwill, where the tax write off will be nearly as much as I'm asking here. The leather alone is worth at least $200.
