(round about 2005-6 a vast amount of deadstock cotton cable-knit t-shirts in wild / complex designs were unearthed in a warehouse in the U.S.
they were all over US ebay for ages, at every vintage fair, and someone even had a small shop full of them here in the U.K.
there were quite a few long sleeved sweaters in the hoard, though mainly they were T's.
the above one and the bright zig-zag one i posted on the first page were part of that hoard. they're mainly mid to late 40s in date,
though some of the wild designs could pass for earlier).

Great stuff!

Sweater tucked into the trousers is something that needs to be done more often.
A great way to make newer "too long" knitwear work with a 30-40's wardrobe.

Hard to pull off though. I find the approval of my peers at least a bit important, and no-one objects to a tweed jacket and tie, but I can't see a tucked in jumper going down well. :p
