Ralphs Pugh aviator. The one thing my collection is still missing... A vintage aviator.

That jacket label was first used in 1938, just as this Aviator style was popular. There is RP on ebay which is very nice and cheaper in Japan. These don't show up often and a pleasure when they do.

This is a late 40s Ralphs-Pugh Steerhide police jacket. Probably the last of this label. Has a "transitional" Talon zipper; 50s pull-40s Stop.

This Buco Size 42 in Horsehide showed up on ebay. I was bidding, then two more jackets came along and took my money. I don't know the model, reminds me of the Harley Davidson Traveler model.

Some. Very few. I’ve got one that squeaks, my HH Fidelity. Hardly worn when I got it. It is getting better though.

This Buco sold on ebay recently. I was talking to the seller gathering information on this rather rare jacket. The jacket sold for $2K. I did mention it in another rare Buco thread. I do not know who saw it or got it.

I am not a Buco collector or authority, but the odd lining in the jacket did draw my attention. I went to the books/internet educate myself. An early wool lined Buco would be the one for me., but I could not compete with the Buco collectors.

It appears to be a first generation J-21, distinguished by the plaid lining, 3rd edition label, one back/side pocket, no interior belt loop, late 40s Talon main zip, one bar and two spots on the epaulets. (the additional spot work on the epaulets and on the collar are not original). The J-21 follows the JH-1 and is the first use of the D pocket.

I have also seen this early lining with a sewn on belt like the JH-1. I'm thinking the sewn on belt was replaced quickly with the through belt set up

I found a Japanese site that described this particular jacket as a prototype.

Buco jackets are well documented in catalogs. This J-21 shows up c.1948 and last a short time, 1.5 years?

It was an interesting adventure into the early Buco jacket history.

This Trojan Sportswear jacket lingered on ebay with no bid, then
SOLD for $1227.00!!! I was floored. I posted this jacket saying it looked "crisp"; or in other words-dried out and ready to flake and break! I do like Cool and Rare, but I want condition too. Maybe my assessment was wrong.

You can almost hear the chorus of popped stitching at first try on with that one. Looks like ginger ale...extra dry.

I have seen one similar to this before. Unless the D pocket is extra big on this one, the proportion seems to indicate it may be a kids or ladies jacket. The belt loop is sewn onto the D pocket (which is what Buco does on ladies/kids jacket) and the chest pocket is almost right on top of the D.

It is a cool and unique jacket. Black Label is late 40s, doesn't show up that often. I will have to look up something similar in the catalog

This halfbelt must’ve been worn as a work jacket, it came heavily stained, well used. Got most of the stain out with home brew ..50/50 vinegar and Dawn soak. Cool unique button cuff detail.
Love this halfbelt fer shur..

Seller added this 40’s vintage scarf as a bonus… so cool, so sharply detailed, just don’t make ‘em like this anymore

I almost bought this or another Ranger just like it. I dig these and the wool versions in similar style. I have a cotton LW, also in a similar style and fit. Awesome.
