Well i'm a pear & i think pencil & a-line skirts are good ,as long as the pencil isn't super tight.I also like shirt waisted dresses & wrap style dress ,i think as long as the skirt isn't really full i can get away with it.Circle skirts & the like make my bum look twice it's size, although my husband doesn't seem to mind that heh
Oh if it helps i'm 5 foot 4 & my measurements are 42,36,44
I'd echo the above, and add a cropped cardigan to that list, one that falls right at the natural waist. That and an A-line is practically a uniform for me! If you have a peek at the high-waisted trousers thread, well, it seems to work for some of us fuller-hipped gals and not for others. I'm a big fan, and can't wear anything beneath my navel!
Measurements 35-ish-31-ish-42-ish .
I am 5'3" and age had brought me a bit of curves! I have found that straight skirts and A-lines work as long as I wear a waist length shirt/blouse/sweater but that I can get away with a circle skirt if it is not too long and I wear a short cardigan with it. I like the ease of the circle skirts for daily wear.
I have noticed that Nigella Lawson (BBC cook and author) seems to be short waisted but full figured and she does look very nice with the shorter cardigans being her norm.
Most importantly is that whatever style you choose, a good fit will make all the difference in how you look and how you feel...and when you feel that you look good and are comfortable in what you have on, it will make all the difference in how you carry yourself...and that is what makes an outfit look grand! I believe that is the key to having style
