Hello
I just bought this Jacket. Have not received it yet? I should receive it on Monday. The seller listed it as a man’s jacket, but I found an old advertisement saying that it might be a ladies jacket? I can’t find much original advertising for it seeing it is probably from the 1990s. Maybe somebody else on the forum has this Jacket and can give me some information I know it’s goat skin with sheep skin inside. Any information would be very helpful. Thank you. I own another L.L. Bean. That’s more like a regular flight Jacket.

I saw that jacket. Hopefully its being a Lady's jacket will have little effect on the chest size and the length of the body and sleeves.

If it is possible, compare and post the measurements: chest, pit-to-pit, sleeve, and back, using same methods, of both jackets.

Most LL Bean jackets get rather high marks for materials and construction. Some LL B jackets were based on G-1, A-2, and other styles of Issued jackets (like yours above), but few were intended to be exact "replicas" of US issued leather jackets. Given the very good quality to price ratio, this does not bother most folks too much. The more modern LL B jackets often being available in somewhat larger chest sizes than Original WW 2 jackets, as well as available in Tall sizes is also a factor in their popularity.

In the US, the zipper pull for men's garments usually lies on the right side of the zipper, as seen by user/wearer. US women's garments usually have zipper pull on left side of zipper.

Euro garments may follow US zipper practices or not. There is more variability in zipper pull placement in euro garments than in US garments.
