I got this today in the mail. My dad quickly appropriated it.
At least I've already got one very much like it.

It came open crowned. Looked like it had never been worn. Whaddya think of the bash I put in it?

mine's the one on the left. It's the same model, but the brim on mine is 2-1/2", his is 2-3/4". The brim binding on mine is wider (but they're both done in felt), and the felt braid bands braid in different directions.

Here they both are being worn. I think hats with braided bands can look a bit cheesy sometimes, but I really love this particular model.

I think the band looks great. The thin width prevents the possibility of the cheesy. Again a good find!!!

Dinerman you find realy nice hats on Rbay. That hat is from the 1940's and looks to be in good shape. I'm definately going to have to pay more attention to the hats online. I kick myself everytime I think of all of the vintage hats we had in stock that we sold off over the years.

At the rate you've been acquiring those great old hats, dinerman, you're on course to assemble a collection to rival Douglas's.
We'll give you a couple of decades to catch up, just to be reasonable about it.

Thanks all.

As for my collection- I'm just hoping my folks don't make me get rid of it when I go off to college.

Two Great Hats

Great hats. You look good in both of them. I'm thinking the second one with the slightly narrower brim fits your face size and shape quite well, so if you had to lose one of them to Dad, I think you ended up with the right one. :)

Your spectacles look good too. You've got good taste D' man!

Tony, Dinerman is already ahead as he has a great eye for quality and style. Dman doesn't buy junk either. In my younger years I did a lot of impulse buying. It won't take him long to aquire a fabulously huge collection.

In all fairness others here have larger more comprehensive collections then mine:eek:

I'd be happy to watch over it while you're away at school, Spencer.
Clearly, you're Ph.D. material. And then there's the post-doc stuff.
