I like that a lot @Viking752!
When I was truck shopping a couple years back I decided to go with the Ram 1500 over GM and Ford, but that was back when it still came with a 5.7 Hemi. Now that GMC/Chevy are the only ones still offering a V8 pickup they would be choice hands down.
Thanks, I had a GMC 2500 diesel I just sold and got that 1500. Been a GM guy most of my life.

Wait - so the 5.0L V8 Coyote engine no longer is offered on the F150?

:) Even though it is, I'm a firm supported of the 3.5L bi-turbo EcoBoost V6 - fantastic, effortless power whenever you need it, smooth, and flexible with the 10speed auto. I drove multiple examples of both before selecting the 3.5, and even the 2.7 Ecoboost gives the 5.0 a real run for it's money. Being in the salt-belt, I really appreciate the aluminum body on these models, but you still need to keep things clean (Frame, suspension, etc).

I just had to confess after a year of a 5.3 V8 in a GMC I was underwhelmed. But I come from a long line of Dodge/Cummins & GM/Duramax truck, all pre 2007 so no emission regulations.

I stand corrected @AeroFan_07!
But when I was looking at what dealers had available on their lots back in 2023 I swear that all of the Fords I saw had an EcoBoost V6. I’m sure you’re right that it’s a great motor but I will stick to V8’s as long as I am able to. It was good enough for Mad Max after all!
No striker fired pistols and no turbo 6s for me.

OK time for an "Aussie" truck. Mazda BT50 ( made in Thailand) on the same production line as the Isuzu D-Max and is mechanically identical. 3 litre turbo diesel 4 cylinder. 6 speed automatic transmission.
Reputed to be the toughest most reliable engine in any current Australian market "ute" ( pickup truck to our American brethren). Even more so than the current Toyota Hilux offerings
Officially it's the Missus' new car 7 months ago, in preparation for our big round Australia circular trip.
I have changed the oil and filter in it myself 3 times already in 12,000 K's.
This vehicle is a 12 year plus plan for us so I am all out on the preventative maintenance.
