NP, I will post those. Just a thought first that might sort the other question out. If my Maverick is (serial number 56064A), when does that date to? @BB1239, I recall you and @Peter Mackin worked out the age of my CHP (117708) what do you think?

Tell you my thinking after we know the Maverick date of birth..
Should be somewhere close to 2005, give or take a few years. It's been a busy few days here, but I will post my math and some supporting facts as soon as I can

Thanks B, if 05 that is interesting as I think (happy to be corrected) that would be at the end or after what some might call classic CW period. I will need to check when the tannery burnt down.

My thought is that the Maverick was bought by me a couple of years ago as NOS (never worn or unpacked a shop that closed down and sold it's stock on to storage) so it may be a New 'Old' CW example we could look at against the New 'New' of Jhilij's and also give Hannes a good feel for his up coming Maverick

This looks potentially much better than the recent CWs and particularly good to have on this model!

What would be really interesting would be if anyone had a pic of the 'old' CW when it was New.
I took this picture back in March of the Comet I bought for my wife in around 2004. It’s probably been worn less than a dozen times so it’s “almost” new.

And here’s the new CW from a few jackets Vanson sent me to try on.

Ok I bit the bullet and pulled the trigger on a Cycle King. It’s on the way to me

It may be a little longer than I’m used to. We’ll see how it goes…

Original owner’s photos attached. Until it arrives.

Interesting that this was bought three years ago from a guy who sold his shop and put it into storage from new. If we are dating it approx. 2005 it may be 'Old' CW with three years non riding wear.

Rather than this CHP which is 'Old' CW with 25+ years hard riding wear.

It's time travel in hide development.

New stuff looks pretty good. As good, or, as good and different, up to you.
Does look good though...

“ The Cycle King is such a badass design! very nice

Cheers! “
Thank you, Cheers Brother !

Looks terrific,,what size is it ?
It’s a large. I’m pretty excited! This was a puzzle piece I didn’t realize I needed. It answers a lot of what I was looking for in a d-pocket. Although the fit seems boxier. I hope it something that will mold in time. I wear leathers year round, and we just hit a good cold streak in NYC, so I plan to wear it hard.

Alright fellow Vanson fans and experts. I need your opinion.
My special custom quilted C2 arrived.
Here is a comparison between my beloved Vanson E and the newly arrived C2.
Please comment what are your thoughts regarding looks and fit.
I might write up the differences between the jackets somewhere separately.

I'll share my thoughts as well, but first I'd like to hear what others think :)

I'm no Vanson expert but here are my thoughts anyway :p

In my eyes they look great in the body/shoulders! I would like the sleeves a bit shorter(this is my personal preference though, and I know a lot of people do like their sleeves longer like yours :) )

In the end I think they are both winners Tartu, I like the back on the E more, but I like the length of the C2 more so it's a tossup for me really! very nice :)

Cheers mate

They both look awesome, but I prefer the C2 as I'm a sucker for quilting.

I like the E much better, though it may be a touch too long. From the back the C2 looks too large. I get that the C2 is better for shorter guys in the body but I've always felt it had less shape that the E. I had a original C, which predated the shorter updated C2, and always felt it was too loose in the gut unless you size it down, which then makes it too tight in the chest/shoulders. The laces on the E allow for a much more tailored fit, but I get why people hate them.

First I would say you are a lucky man to have found not one but two beautiful Vansons. I like how the C2 tapers a bit more at the waist, the quilting is very unique and makes it look custom. Generally speaking on the C2’ model I prefer how the belt loops are attached. Both are keepers if that is possible. Enjoy

I would take the E every time.i just prefer the back, with the addition of the mouton collar it's unbeatable. It works on and off the bike. The c2 on the other hand I would be bike only.
