Maybe, maybe not, but they will sure be lighter in weight.
I just got Reed's original N3A. It is better than the Monarch I recently purchased. The sleeves feel longer and don’t ride up as much, the hood actually zips up, and the fur is in much better condition. I’ll list the Monarch N3A for sale later this week.

I also got a Mooseknuckles 3Q parka on sale 30% off, rated to -22. I'm curious about dry conditions, which would be warmer, purely for academic reasons. I plan to keep both: the 3Q for the city and N3A for the cabin in the north woods.

Any rate both coats combined cost more than a $1000 less than a Real McCoys or Canada Goose parka, I don't know how they justify their prices these day.

Your N3–A can also double as an emergency blanket, or a supplemental blanket, if the heat goes out in your Northwoods cabin.

Yes, I am satisfied with my choice in outerwear. So long as my A2 from Real McCoys makes it back to the US I believe I have enough jackets to last me a lifetime.

Well guys, I managed to get a Good Spiewak Golden Fleece parka, yahoo Japan, I normally take 40 so I got a 40, compared to the modern spiewak china parka nothing to see, quality, it seems a little oversize compared to the spiewak china medium, sleeves a little longer, but nothing I can't live with :) let me know what you think, at lease it covers my bum and crown jewels haha :p

I'd be interested in adding a Monarch to my collection. Is it the fur coyote or synthetic version?

Can you post post an image of the Reed as they tend to be rare these days?

Cheers,

D

Sure. The Monarch is fur, original from about 1951 to the best of my knowledge. There is some pictures of the Reed.
