Hi Everyone,

I am from Canada, new to this forum and recently acquired a new Bronson US N1 Deck Jacket in size 38(M).
This message is geared to all the aficionados of the many brands making a repro of this style of jacket. Apology in advance as I am well aware of other threads on this subject.
I am looking for feedback before I ship it back to China and re-order. Or sell and re-order.
I have fairly broad shoulders and long arms. I am 5'7" and weight 150 lbs.
Unaware of how these fit, I ended up feeling quite snug wearing the jacket. Short on the arms and of course tight under the armpits and the shoulders. If I sit and extend my arms to drive, the sleeves end up very high.
In short, it is too small for me. I wouldn't be able to wear anything underneath.
I love the slim fit look but I do need more room.
I took quite some time to re-measure myself and had a second set of eyes doing so with me.
I am thinking of ordering a size 42(XL). It is only 3.5 cm more after all. Not much more room really.
It seems that Bronson doesn't allow for much gap in between sizes. That a 40(L) measurements are still too close to the 38(M) and therefore taking a leap over to the 42(XL) would allow me to maybe wear a sweater under or simply a t-shirt if the weather is too hot.
I would appreciate any feedback and comments.

Thank you in advance.

Some photos for reference.

The sleeves are definitely too short, but the body length looks fine. You must have really long arms. I like Bronson's stuff though. I am considering ordering one myself or the tank jacket.

Hahaha, I do and I think the lower angle of the photos make me look even lengthier than I am.
If you do decide to purchase one, definitely consider one or two sizes up depending on your musculature. The jacket was pretty tight under the arms and my shoulders felt trapped.

I am still hoping for someone on here to chime in about my choice of going 2 sizes up.
Again, according to their charts, the measurement increments between a Medium and a Large are negligible. Hence my choice to leap from a (M) to a (XL).

The Bronson is more of a 'fitted' jacket for sure and I think the sleeves on their version are a little on the short side all around, the sleeves on my 44 are only just long enough for me.

The Pike Bros version is a much more generous fit all around but if you want a trimmer fit then I guess sticking with the Bronson is the way to go.

If it were me then your plan of going up two sizes is probably what I would do.

Thank you for this!!!

Although I just went to the post office today and to ship it back to China will cost me a whopping $130.00 CAD (£75.00) for a jacket I paid $220.00 CAD landed (£127.00)
Absolutely ridiculous. Huge lesson learnt.
I have it listed on Kijiji for sale during my 30 days return policy. I'm hoping to sell it before then, God willing!!!

Is there an exchange on this forum? for buy + sell?

BTW, the PB N-1 sleeves run relatively long, fit my Gibbon light double arms quite well...:)

full

Saw these, but the price is on the high side for what I want to pay. although, looks like I am now committed to a higher price point with the Bronson anyways LOL (sigh')
