Urgent question

I'm new to the whole vintage clothing thang but have been caught up in it very quickly, however, I am not trying to buy actual vintage at the moment, just vintage style clothes. Does anyone know of any reference books (or websites) that go into detail about various periods in terms of clothing styles. I was leaning more towards British fashion as that interests me more.

Use the search function here, or just look in like, any thread. There are tons of pictures, a thread called "Books about the Looks," and scans of vintage catalogs.

Try doing an advanced Google search, too.

A good reference is would be a pictorial based on movies from the period you are interested in.
