Last year I purchased my first pair of Chelsea boots, and while very happy with them, I would like to upgrade to something more stylish and of a better quality.
I have been looking at boots from RM Williams, Red Wings and Frye, as it seems these brands are considered to be among the highest quality. I have also seen people commenting they are all very different, although I am unsure what those differences are.
I like the James Chelsea from Frye, and also several of the RM Williams styles, in particular. My goal is something versatile, that can be worn with jeans and a shirt, and also fit a business setting.
My main concern though, is durability and then comfort. Something with traction on icey sidewalks would be great.
Are the boots of one brand more durable, or versatile than the other, or are they all roughly equivalent?
edit: My apologies, I meant to post in the general attire sub-forum.
