Type 3 jean leather jacket

Hi all, this is my first time posting here.

As the title suggest, I have a question about the type 3 leather jacket.

I have been looking for a leather jacket for a long time, wanting to find the perfect one. I find this one on Aero's website and its perfect, since I can modify it to my liking. A little longe, little boxy on the chest, little wider on bicep/upper arm area. However, Aero refuses to make hand warmer pockets, and I feel like I can't use a jacket without it.

So now I come here, wanting to find out if there is another place I can buy this type of jacket, with the same quality and customization? Or am I forced to bite the ****** and try to live without hand warmer pockets...

Thanks in advance for the help!

Here's a great jacket. But they make elongated sleeves, keep in mind.

Yes I have seen this, and it looks really good, though a little expensive.

Just feel like I can't in good consciousness spend that kind of money and not have it be perfect, especially when the perfect jacket for me is so close to being real, but aero doesn't want to add hand warmer pockets haha

If the Aero jacket suits you perfectly, you can overlook the lack of pockets.

The Type III is one of the most commonly reproduced styles in the world. Just about everyone makes one. So the problem is deciding which one is best for you.

Aero makes a really good looking Type III, and their refusal to do the updated 80s version with handwarmer pockets is sad, because if they did I'd have owned one by now.

Levi's, The Gap, Schott, and Vanson all have made leather Type III jackets, and the cheap vintage Gap jackets are actually surprisingly good. Those are the brands I'd start looking at as alternatives to Aero.

The Vanson pattern is not an exact reproduction because of the way they changed the front seams, so it doesn't look right to me. But Vanson also have a Lee 101j that is more faithful to the pattern.

There's probably hundreds of other brands that do a leather trucker jacket, but relatively few do them in the same league as Aero. I just wish Aero would listen to the demand and make it an option, instead of drawing a firm line at 1960 and not doing anything designed after that.

Yeah, I'm really disappointed in aero...

This is even making me research custom jackets from places like Thedi, but I don't know if it's worth it

I am located in Denmark.

How is Johnson leathers compared to Thedi?
I have never owned a Thedi before. I know there are threads on here for both Thedi and Johnson that you can read jacket reviews on. Maybe there is someone who has owned both brands that can chime in.

I ordered a custom aero type 3 last year and am very happy with it. The lack of hand warmer pockets is a minor annoyance but you get used to it. Initially my hands would automatically go to where the pockets should be but I also have trouser or Jean pockets for my hands, so it’s not a deal breaker. I find the fit of my jacket to be perfect so if you get the measurements right when ordering then it’s worth it. The lack of a pocket option wouldn’t stop me from ordering another one with the same measurements.

@ThorKaas , what do you actually use the hand warmers for on your type 3s?

I've had a million truckers over the years, including leather that I wear now, and I never use the hw pockets for anything. They're not practical enough to put things in, and if my hands are going to get cold I would be wearing a different jacket anyway.

To have my hands in to relax then haha

And occasionally putting items in temporarily.

But it's really nice to have to relax
