i don't wish to judge the trend (it's not my look but i think it works on many) ... i'm just amazed at how popular the look has become.
i'm sure the internet has been part of the reason for it's spread. what once might have remained the identity of a few in east London or Brooklyn is now global.

True. There is a trend. I don't think it is the same as "Hipster" (no irony, no 80s) and also different from the vintage workwear folks. It's not important for them if the things are real vintage or have vintage details. They like stuff that is "real", manly, artisanal, handcrafted and so on. Nothing wrong with that in general. They just like to write about it like it was a genuine philosophy. It can get annoying. The german magazine "heritage post" went that route and recently got worse. Comparing well crafted clothes to the beliefs and ideals of spanish civil war fighters. WTF indeed

Lol those ideals eventually became probably as confused as the modern workwear ones.
A tattoo is too permanent a style decision for me... There is no guarantee that I will have 100% the same taste 10 years from now.
