This is interesting reading. The suede jacket I had 30 years ago got shiny and looked stained (it wasn't) with wear. A look that came off as shabby. I would love to see a photo of a worn suede jacket that actually looks cool.

Depends on the quality of sueding Seb. Some look terrible with even the slightest wear with severe wearing off and becoming exceptionally shiny. Mine one was great and I've seen plenty of others. You can see great suede vintage jackets and crap ones. Same with suede shoes. I currently have a pair of suede brogues that I love and have had decent wear and they don't look shabby. But as we all know beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I purchased a vintage suede jacket from the King's Road back in the 80's (currently resting in the wardrobe) that has seen heavy use & regular offers from others to take it off my hands..will need to post some pics.

cool pocket trimming is the smooth side up.

Yes it does. And also the smooth side is up on the top panel inside of the zipper.

that is certainly a well thought decision, as they are the spots where body oil might stain the jacket from hands and exposed skin from shirt opening around the neck and shoulder.
