Anyone with experience on this item? I'm considering a pair in the French Roast color in a size 10, some feedback I've read seems to indicate they run a bit narrow which is what I'm hoping for. Any other experiences with them as a company?
Thanks, G.

I have several pairs of Thursday boots including the Vanguard in color 8. All Thursday's run 1/2 size small. Order 1/2 down and you cant go wrong.

I'm not sure about that. I have two pair (Captains and Presidents) that I ordered in my usual size and they both fit perfectly. Comfortable boots and a good deal.

The Vanguard is the USA made item, perhaps the sizing is different. The sizing of shoes today are tough to nail down. Using the Brannock scale, I wear a 10N although using the same scale, although measuring at the ball of the foot, I wear a 10.5N. My question is, what size is the boot made to? Overall length or ball of foot?

Are both of you pleased with the quality overall?

Thanks, G.

Very much so. I have about 30 pairs of shoes and boots but wind up wearing the Thursdays at least three days out of five. I teach for a living and spend a lot of time on my feet. Btw, have you checked their "Help" page? They have quite a bit of info on sizing and there's a "Contact" button at the bottom of the page.
A bit off-topic, but a few weeks ago I took a twenty y.o. pair of Frye boots that I have to the cobbler. They'd been neglected and I was thinking of tossing them, but when I got them back they looked like brand-new and are incredibly comfortable. Leather soles and heels, but they feel like rubber. Great boots.

Thanks for the info. I have contacted Thursday Boot Co. although wanted to validate through a owner and possibly minimize any surprises.

An old pair of well made boots are a real bonus in life. I'm basically replacing a 30 year old pair of Chippewa Engineer boots with the Thursdays. I've had them resoled (5) times although have some nails protruding into the heel area and the leather is getting badly compromised in spots, to the point, I really don't think they can be revived. They were built on the Munson Last and fit my foot like a second skin. I still might take them to the cobbler to determine if there's just a bit of life left in them for kicking around in.

One year and four months later, did you purchase a pair of Thursday Vanguards? If so, what do you think of them?

I found, through two returns, that Vanguards fit true to size (Thursday's return and exchange policy is outstanding). I am a size 10 length, 10 1/4 arch length, C-D width on the Brannock and ended up with a size 10 Vanguard in Burnt Copper that fits perfectly, with just a bit of room to spare for feet swelling after a long walk or perhaps some thick socks. My only complaint is the heel height - if only they were about 1/4" shorter.

Yes, unfortunately I sent them back. I found a rare Redwing Chuka in a 10.5 Narrow that I liked and purchased these.
