My parents’ love for each other.

Dad’s Alzheimer’s has progressed to the point that they moved out of their home into assisted living today. Tough...but they have each other and all the family to lean on.

At rehab, my wife slept on the floor.
As much as I wanted her with me,
I could not sleep with her like that.
I told her to go home, rest and have
a good night's sleep.
I told her that the love we have for each
other is great that I don't feel alone especially in the night.
I also text on Fedora Lounge until I get
sleepy.

(Clarification)
I'm at physical rehab to rebuild my body
with weights and exercises. After months in hospital, my weight went from 190 to 160.
I don't drink or smoke.

The other night a couple of the Kids and I were going to go bowling -- but because of the snowstorm, which decidedly didn't make any of us smile, the bowling alley was closed. So instead we settled in at my house and spent a pleasant couple of hours playing with my cat and, of all things, looking at View-Master slides, and finally reading particularly fruity passages aloud from my copy of "100,000,000 Guinea Pigs: Everyday Dangers in Foods, Drugs, and Cosmetics." We swore a pact never to eat All-Bran or undergo x-ray hair removal again, and one of the young people borrowed the book to read all the way thru.

It's fashionable today to slag on millennials for their addiction to forms of entertainment old people can't handle -- but the next time anyone here is tempted to do that, please remember that there was a night, in 2019, when two twenty-somethings and an old lady had a perfectly enjoyable evening laughing at 3-D Kodachrome pictures of a zoo llama with clothes on.

Some weeks back, I ordered a Ruth Etting album from Ebay, and this is the box it came in.



I've never known an Ebay (or other) seller who threw in a bonus stamp collection for the price of purchase.
